AND SO WAS THIS LITTLE WALL CLOCK
I PICKED UP OTHER DAY...
SHE WAS VERY DATED, WITH THE
BLACK AND GOLD GLASS ON THE
FRONT AND THE UGLY COLOR STAIN.
SHE WAS ABANDONED, AND JUST AS
ALOT OF OUT OF DATE, OUT
OF STYLE THINGS SHE ENDED UP
AT THE THRIFT STORE.
YUP THATS HER IN MY CART AT
THE THRIFT STORE.
HERES SOME OTHER SHOTS OF THE
BEFORE...
THIS PICTURE SHOWS A BIG CHUNCK
OF WOOD TAKEN OUT I JUST FIXED IT
WITH WOOD FILLER.
I CANT BELIEVE ANYONE ACTUALLY LIKED THAT
BLACK AND GOLD GLASS LOOK..
I TOOK OFF THE DOOR AND THE GLASS
ROUND PIECE WHICH COVERED THE
FACE OF THE CLOCK
THEN I DID A COAT OF PRIMER..
AND I GOT RID OF THE BLACK
AND GOLD GLASS
YUP.. I SMASHED IT WITH A HAMMER...
AND THE AFTER...
I REPLACED THE GLASS WITH WIRE AND
I SCRUBBED THE FACE OF THE CLOCK TO
DISTRESS IT...
PAINTED THE HOUR AND MINUTE HANDS
WITH GOOD OLD ORB
(OIL RUBBED BRONZE SPRAY PAINT)
AND I ALSO OXIDIZED THE BRASS
PENDULUM BY A TECHNIQUE I FOUND ON THE
INTERNET WHERE YOU SUSPEND THE
ITEM ABOVE AMONIA, COVER IT,
AND THE FUMES WILL ACTUALLY OXIDIZE
THE PIECE. BE CAREFUL THE
FUMES ARE KILLER...
AND TADA!!!
THE REALLY COOL THING ABOUT THIS CLOCK
IS THAT THE FRONT GLASS LIFTS UP SO YOU
CAN CHANGE THE TIME...
I LOVE THE WAY SHE TURNED OUT... AND
NOW I'M ON THE LOOKOUT FOR MORE WALL
CLOCKS....
HOPE YOU LIKE HER.
